118 MOBILE APPS BANNED IN INDIA INCLUDING PUBG

India has decided to ban 118 mobile apps, including Pubg . The decision was took by India’s Ministry of Information and Technology on Wednesday. The ministry said in a statement. The ministry said in a statement that the mobile apps were against India’s sovereignty and integrity, security and public order.

Many of the apps currently bann by India are link to China. However India’s Ministry of Information and Technology said the move would benefit millions of mobile and internet users in India. But the decision was taken with the aim of ensuring the security and sovereignty of India’s cyberspace, the statement said.

IT ministry had received complaints from various sources , including several reports about misuse of some mobile apps available on Android and iOS platforms for stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users’ data to servers outside India: Govt

However , there are close to 33 million active PUBG players in India, according to reports. The game clocks some 13 million daily users.

India’s decision comes at a time when tensions with China are mounting. Earlier, India had decided to ban 59 mobile apps linked to China. Which also included the popular video app Tiktok.
